Wiliam Samuel Johnson

  • William Samuel Johnson was born on October 7, 1727.
  • He went to Yale, and he grauated in 1744.
  • Before the Congress, he was a member of the Supreme Court between 1772-1774.
  • He was a member of the Constitutional Congress.
  • He was a delegate from Connecticut.
  • He was one of the smartest delegate at the Congress.
  • Made impacting speeches during the debate.
  • He was looking for a strong goverment to protect Connecticut's rights.
  • Wanted a "Connecticut Compromise."
  • During the Constitutional Congress, he was not a supporter of the War of Independence.
  • In 1787, he was elected to be the president of Columbia Collage.
  • Then on November 14, 1819, William Samuel Johnson died.
